Rare Cameo Example
1883 G$1 PR65 Cameo PCGS. The 1883 proof gold dollar claims
a mintage of just 207 pieces, the last year in which proof
production failed to reach 1,000 pieces until the denomination was
cancelled in 1889. This sharply detailed specimen features deeply
mirrored fields that provide a high degree of contrast. The
surfaces exhibit the classic orange-peel effect seen on many proofs
