Description

1884 Gold Dollar, PR63
Attractive for the Grade

1884 G$1 PR63 NGC. Breen-6107. The date was first punched in too low, and remnants of the first two digits are plainly evident in the field below 18 in the date. Even though 1,006 proofs were produced, the 1884 is not common as one might at first believe. This example has pronounced orange-peel texturing in the fields on each side. A couple of light contact marks and light hairlining explain the grade of this deeply mirrored proof.(Registry values: P1)
