1885 G$1 PR64 Cameo NGC. CAC. A reported mintage of 1,105
proof gold dollars was accomplished in 1885, but the majority of
these pieces were never distributed, and most were melted after the
end of the year. This delightful Choice example displays stark
cameo contrast between the sharply detailed frosty devices and the
deeply mirrored fields. Census: 36 in 64 (2 in 64+) Cameo, 68 finer
