    Description

    Gem Proof 1886 Gold Dollar

1886 G$1 PR65 PCGS. An amply mirrored specimen that is essentially void of hairlines and is further enhanced by golden-orange accents on each side. There are a few miniscule die flaws on the reverse, none of which affect the eye appeal of this dazzling proof type coin. Although 1,016 proofs were struck, Gem or better survivors probably represent fewer than five percent of the original mintage. Population: 18 in 65, 11 finer (11/05).
    From The Watson Collection.(Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# 25EW, PCGS# 7636)
