1886 Superb Gem Proof Gold Dollar
The Finest Non-Cameo Certified
1886 G$1 PR67 PCGS Secure. Unusual color is this later proof
gold dollar's greatest asset, even more so than its impressive
preservation. Sun-gold and orange hues dominate the lower margins
on each side and visit the rest of the rims, while the upper-center
zones show an overtone somewhere between lavender and silver.
Though mildly contrasted below Cameo levels, the gleaming fields
are preserved magnificently, and the devices offer all the
intricate detail a collector could want. The only non-Cameo PR67
example certified by PCGS with none finer (6/12), out of 1,016
