Gem Cameo Proof 1887 Gold Dollar
1887 G$1 PR65 Cameo NGC. Sparkling mirrors are tempered by an occasional blush of milky patina, and three small, well spaced alloy stains are visible on the obverse. A minority of the 1,043 proofs from this year survive, especially when one eliminates the business strikes that are often confused with actual proofs. Oddly enough for a proof, some notable counterclockwise die rotation is noted.
