Description

1887 PR 60 ANACS. Considered one of the more available proof dates, with a mintage of 1,043 pieces, 1887 gold dollars are actually not as frequently encountered as one might imagine when first-strike business strikes are factored out from the numbers of purported proofs sold over the years. This is a deeply mirrored example that shows the pinpoint striking details that only proofs possess. Just the slightest contrast is noted between the fields and devices. Light hairlines and a few tiny contact marks account for the grade.
