Description

PCGS 1889 PR 64. Even though the mintage of proofs was greater in this year than any other in the series, quite a few were melted at year's end as unsold, also a number were mishandled and high grade examples are nowhere near as available as one might imagine. This is a lovely, high-end proof with glittering surfaces and much deep reddish color that is interspersed with steely-blue. Population: 11 in 64, 16 finer.
