Description
Elusive 1834 Gem Proof Half Cent
1834 PR 65 Brown NGC. B-1, C-1, R.6. Ex: Dawson. Iridescent olive-green and copper-rose overtones, with hardly a trace of faded mint red color to be found. There is a modest, glassy reflectivity on each side and the devices are struck in all areas with the exactness of a proof. Over the left side of star 4 is a tiny rim dent, but this is the only visible defect. An elusive proof issue, one of perhaps as few as 20 survivors.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26Z4, PCGS# 1248, GSID# 582)
