    1841 B-1 Half Cent, PR63 Brown
    Original Strike, Ex: Reiver

1841 1/2 C Original, B-1, R.5, PR63 Brown NGC. Ex: Jules Reiver Collection. Small date, Large berries. The obverse is plated in the second edition of Cohen. A prominent die crack joins stars 3 through 6 and just misses star 7. In his Complete Encyclopedia, Breen stated that about 24 examples of this variety were known to him. Probably 65 or 70 are now thought to exist. Mahogany-brown surfaces show pale steel-blue toning on the obverse. Faint hairlines limit the grade. Our EAC grade PR60.
Ex: Delaware Coin (11/28/1969); Jules Reiver Collection (Heritage, 1/2006), lot 19132.
