First Restrike, B-2
1843 1/2 C First Restrike, B-2, R.6, PR64 Red and Brown
PCGS. Diagnostics for the B-2 (First Restrike) variety include
the small reverse berries and doubling at the bottom-right upright
of the T in CENT. Walter Breen reported 25 to 30 pieces known in
his 1988 Complete Encyclopedia. This near-Gem showcases
iridescent blue, magenta, violet, green, and orange patina over
golden-brown and brick-red surfaces. Contact is trivial for this
