1843 Original Half Cent, PR65 Red and Brown
B-1, Beautifully Toned Coin
1843 1/2 C Original, B-1, R.5, PR65 Red and Brown NGC. A
stunning array of colors grace the surfaces of this pristine half
cent, ranging from citrus-orange to steel-rose, lime-green, and
sky-blue to create exceptional eye appeal. All details are clad in
strong relief, and abrasions are minimal. The 1843 Original is one
of the more available issues in the enigmatic proof half cent
series, and is rated R.5. However, any assessment of availability
must be taken in the context of the series, as this issue still
likely has less than 50 examples known. In addition to the splendid
color, another notable aspect of this example is its NGC Gen 4
holder that lists the denomination as a cent instead of a half
cent, providing two interesting features to slab
