Description
1844 Original PR 60 Brown. From an estimated surviving population of 15 to 16 pieces, this is one of several to have received a degree of "handling" during the previous century. It is, however, instantly identifiable as a proof with its wide, square rims and still faintly reflective fields. Subtle violet and olive-green highlights are found on either side.
Ex: Garrett Sale (B & R, 11/79), lot 37.
