1847 1/2 C Second Restrike, B-3, Low R.6, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. The Second Restrike Braided Hair half cents are also known as the "Reverse of 1840" proofs from the initial use of the reverse die. Short die lines over RICA are characteristic of this reverse die. This fully mirrored Gem retains considerable original faded orange mint color with delicate cerulean-blue toning in the fields. The sharply detailed devices are satiny, providing a slight cameo appearance. Our EAC grade PR64. Restrike Population: 6 in 65 Red and Brown, 1 finer (11/21).
