Description

1852 Restrike PR 62 Brown PCGS. Second Restrike. A Rarity-7 coin and obviously very elusive, this is the only Second Restrike we have offered in at least six years. All proofs from this year have small berries, the Second Restrikes are distinguished by die file marks over RICA. These are very faint, however, and at first glance they are not apparent, leading one to hope that perhaps this is a theoretically possible but unknown original proof from 1852. Deep, chocolate-brown patina covers each side of this fully struck proof. Identifiable by a small planchet depression at 3 o'clock on the obverse rim.
