Description

1856 Half Cent, PR64 Brown
Colorfully Toned B-3 Restrike

1856 1/2 C Restrike, B-3, R.4, PR64 Brown PCGS. Doubling on the T in CENT distinguishes B-3 from the rarer B-1. This colorful Choice proof type coin exhibits splendid sea-green, plum-red, and straw-gold toning across intricately struck and exemplary surfaces. The obverse has a wire rim between 10 and 4 o'clock, most prominent near 1 o'clock. A small circular area of tan patina northwest of star 2 identifies the coin.
