Description

1859 Indian Cent, PR64
Gold CAC, Old Green Holder

1859 1C PR64 PCGS. Gold CAC. Any proof 1859 Indian cent with a CAC sticker is a rarity, and this is the only proof in any grade with a Gold CAC sticker (7/25). CAC considers this piece undergraded, and we concur. Sharp definition spans the frosty devices, while the fields produce ample mirroring with glints of peach and orange throughout otherwise prairie-gold patina. Appreciable, undesignated contrast is apparent, especially on the obverse. We have seen many higher-grade proofs of this one-year Laurel Wreath type with inferior eye appeal and technical quality. Housed in a Generation 3.0 green label holder. Gold CAC: 1 in 64, 0 finer (7/25).(Registry values: N2998)
