    1859 1C PR65 PCGS. CAC. Of the reported 800 pieces struck, many proofs either entered circulation or were melted at the end of the year. Glassy, light-tan surfaces appear close to Premium Gem quality, save for occasional milkiness and a carbon fleck located directly above the N in ONE. An important and underrated one-year proof type. Population: 39 in 65, 21 finer (10/08). (Registry values: N2998)
