    Important Proof 1859 Indian Cent

    1859 1C PR 64 NGC. A colorful near-Gem, both sides display a base of golden-tan color over which concentric swirls of olive-green and golden-orange iridescence have gathered. The surfaces are crisply impressed with appreciable reflectivity in the fields. The 1859 is a scarce one-year issue with an original mintage of 800 pieces, many of which were melted as unsold.
