Description

Bright 1860 Cent, PR65

1860 1C Indian Cent PR65 NGC. CAC (Gold Label). A magnificent example of this first year for the Indian cent design in regular production (after innumerable patterns). The fields are remarkably reflective, especially on the reverse where the color is a couple of shades lighter. The surfaces have a rich red patina that deepens around the margins and also shows occasional hints of lime green. The strike is full in all areas and there are no mentionable or observable flaws. The gold sticker speaks volumes about the quality of this copper-nickel cent. Out of a total of 19 CAC-certified 1860 proof cents, only seven have been given a CAC sticker with four in a higher grade (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)
