Description

Scarce High-Grade 1860 Cent, PR65

1860 1C PR65 PCGS. CAC. Of the 542 proofs struck of the 1860 cent, most show shallowly mirrored fields, field striations, and rounded edges. Conjecture by both Rick Snow and Ron Sirna is that this date was singly struck in proof format. This piece has confirmed reflectivity, but certainly not deep. The surfaces display pale lilac color in the fields with a light overlay of red on each side. Only a few light specks of carbon are present, and most will require magnification to see. Population: 35 in 65, 7 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)
