Description

1860 Indian Cent, PR66
None Numerically Finer at PCGS

1860 1C PR66 PCGS. Mint records report the production of 1,000 proof Indian cents in 1860, though as many as 450 were purportedly unsold and dumped into circulation. Surviving examples are sometimes available in lower grades, though striking quality is often a problem. This Premium Gem representative is not only conditionally rare, it is also fully struck throughout, with glassy fields that display faint orange and rose hues amid the primarily tan-gold luster. The preservation is nearly flawless, only adding to the overall immense eye appeal. Population: 13 in 66, 0 finer (9/14).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229A, PCGS# 2253, Greysheet# 1470)
