Key 1861 Indian Cent, PR64

1861 1C PR64 PCGS. CAC. With an estimated mintage of 1,000 pieces, the 1861 proof Indian Head cent is the key proof issue of the series. The present coin is a well preserved example, with reflective original fields and strongly impressed devices. The mirrors are not deeply reflective due to the poor quality of the dies, but this specimen shows some elements of contrast that are missing on most examples of this date. Population: 53 in 64, 20 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
