1861 Cent, PR64
Appreciably Toned
1861 1C PR64 PCGS. No records were kept pertaining to the
production of proof cents in 1861, but the estimated mintage is
around 1,000 pieces. A mix of copper-orange, golden-brown, and
lavender patina colors each side in an appreciable fashion.
Planchet voids appear left of Liberty's mouth and below the ribbon
end, as often found among 1861 specimens. This glossy,
semireflective example shows minor contact marks on the cheek, but
the fields are clean. Only 38 submissions are graded finer at PCGS,
