'Rattler' Holder, Good Eye Appeal

1861 1C PR65 PCGS. This thoroughly reflective, fully detailed Gem proof was struck from fresh dies. The obverse is tan-gold with vivid orange, amber, and reddish undertones, while the reverse has similar coloration in addition to a dash of olive-green along the left-hand border. Finer proof 1861 cents are exceedingly rare. Resides in a "rattler" holder. Population: 25 in 65 (1 in 65+), 3 finer (4/17).(Registry values: N2998)
