    1862 PR65 Cameo Cent

1862 1C PR65 Cameo PCGS. The 1862 is the "type" coin from the Copper-Nickel series. It is also better produced than the 1860 and 1861. The fields are deeply mirrored on this piece and the striking details are completely brought up--in contrast to the indifferent reflectivity and incomplete definition seen on 1860 and 1861 cents. The coin is bright and essentially untoned. A couple of minor abrasions are seen under close examination, one to the left of the date, the other on the reverse under the N of CENT. Several tiny greenish flecks in the lower left (facing) obverse quadrant, and a couple of more on the lower reverse, are mentioned for accuracy. Population: 13 in 65, 19 finer (2/06).(Registry values: P3)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229C, PCGS# 82259)

    Weight: 4.67 grams
