Description

Shimmery 1862 Cent, PR67 Cameo

1862 1C PR67 Cameo PCGS. An amazing Cameo representative of this desirable copper-nickel proof cent, the glorious surfaces would stand for nothing less than a Superb Gem grade. There is not a single distracting blemish, and the shimmering fields form a splendid backdrop to the crisp, fully brought up devices. A few isolated swirls of orange tinged iridescence interrupt the otherwise honey-tan coloration. As of (11/08), PCGS reports only three 1862 Indian cents at the PR67 Cameo grade level, and, not surprisingly, there are none finer--a statistic that has not changed in the past several years. One should be able to trace the pedigree of this important specimen by a small, out-of-the-way planchet flaw (as produced) at 12 o'clock on the obverse rim.(Registry values: P3)
