Description

1862 Copper-Nickel Cent, PR67 Cameo
Among the Finest Known

1862 1C PR67 Cameo PCGS. An amazing Cameo representative of this proof copper-nickel cent. There are no singularly distracting blemishes, and the shimmering fields form a splendid backdrop for the fully brought up devices. A few isolated swirls of orange-tinged iridescence interrupt the otherwise honey-tan coloration. As of (3/22), PCGS reports only five 1862 Indian cents at the PR67 Cameo grade level, and, not surprisingly, there are none finer. One should be able to trace the pedigree of this important specimen by a small, out-of-the-way planchet flaw (as produced) at 12 o'clock on the obverse rim.
