    1863 1C PR65 PCGS. An intricately impressed caramel-gold Gem. A lens reveals minor contact on the portrait. A very scarce Civil War proof date. Although the Guide Book suggests a mintage of 800 to 1,000 pieces, many sets were likely melted as unsold. Population: 25 in 65 (1 in 65+), 8 finer (4/17).(Registry values: N2998)
