    Description

1864 Bronze No L Cent, PR65 Red and Brown
    Elusive in Finer Grades

1864 1C Bronze No L PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Dappled olive-brown toning overlays both sides, but plenty of golden-orange mint luster is still readily evident. The sharply struck devices and moderately glowing fields leave little doubt about this coin's proof status, although we note that the latter characteristic is only visible at direct light angles. There are no noteworthy distractions. Population: 34 in 65 Red and Brown, 13 finer (9/14).
Ex: Long Beach Bullet (Heritage, 2/2002), lot 156; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2003), lot 5489.(Registry values: N2998)
