    Description

Nicely Toned Gem Proof 1864 Bronze Indian Cent

1864 1C Bronze No L PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. The actual mintage of this issue is unknown, but a reasonable estimate is around 300 pieces, considering the number of pieces extant today in all grades and colors and the number that must have been lost over the years from attrition. The fields on this piece are deeply mirrored on each side and each side shows a pleasing mix of deep cherry-red, turquoise-blue, and golden-tan colorations. A lovely example of this solidly graded Gem proof.(#2277) (Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229F, PCGS# 2277)

    Weight: 3.11 grams

Metal: 95% Copper, 5% Tin and Zinc
