    Description

    1864 1C Copper-Nickel PR63 NGC. The devices have tan-gold patina, while the fields have iridescent violet, yellow, and green color. Well struck with reflective mirrored fields and several tiny carbon specks on the obverse. The dies are rotated approximately 30 degrees. The E in STATES has been clearly recut. Only 370 proofs were struck in the copper-nickel composition.
