    1864 1C Copper-Nickel PR63 PCGS. Both sides display pinpoint sharpness beneath irregular burnt-orange and olive patina. The reported mintage of the 1864 Copper-Nickel proof is an impressively low 370 pieces, but this cataloger is going to break with the standard phrase that "it is reliably estimated that today no more than 100 pieces are known in all grades" since the actual number is probably double that.(#2265) (Registry values: N991)
