Bright 1866 Cent, PR65 Red
1866 1C PR65 Red PCGS. Only 725 proofs were struck of the 1866 in proof format. As one would expect, very few high grade, full red pieces are extant today. The fields are deeply reflective on each side with a bright, lustrous finish seen over the devices. The color is bright red with some subtle, mottled mellowing throughout, this being visible only as the coin is turned under a light. A lovely Gem proof and evenly matched on each side.
