    Description

    1868 Cent, PR65 Red
    Colorfully Toned Example

1868 1C PR65 Red PCGS. The surfaces range from sunset-orange to magenta and pale saffron with medium orange predominating, but each side adds a central window of pale mint-green color, a thoroughly attractive effect. There is nothing to quibble about on the bold proof strike, but a loupe reveals a couple of small dark flecks. Nonetheless a beautiful example of this low-mintage early proof. Population: 9 in 65 Red, 2 finer (7/13).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229L, PCGS# 2293)

    Weight: 3.11 grams
