    Description

    1870 1C PR 66 Red and Brown NGC. A challenging issue at this grade level, this gem representative displays mottled tan-brown patina on both sides that darkens somewhat over the highpoints. Ample traces of original mint luster are still visible about the peripheries and the impression is typically strong for a proof striking. Devoid of hairlines, this original piece would feel right at home in an advanced collection of Indian Heads. Population: 2 in 66, 0 finer (6/99).
