    Description

Finest Known Gem Proof 1871 Indian Cent

1871 PR 66 Red NGC. Bright golden and copper patina with unfathomably deep mirror surfaces. In fact, this example has the flash of a gem proof issued in the 1900s. A couple of tiny carbon flecks are mentioned for accuracy only. This is the singular finest example thus far graded by either service.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229P, PCGS# 2302)

    Weight: 3.11 grams

Metal: 95% Copper, 5% Tin and Zinc
