1876 1C PR66 Red PCGS. Snow-PR3....
Description
1876 Indian Cent, PR66 Red
Tied for Finest Graded
1876 1C PR66 Red PCGS. Snow-PR3. This scarce die pair
features a reflective obverse field and a striated reverse. A
sizeable die chip exists on Liberty's jawline and a smaller die
chip sits in the hair to the right of the ear. The coin is sharply
struck up as evidenced by multiple blows of the coining press. We
note a small toning spot under the O of ONE on the reverse, but
there are no other marks of any consequence. A scattering of
reddish-tan toning dots the obverse and reverse. The 1876 issue is
currently unsurpassable in this grade at either PCGS or NGC.
