Description

1877 Indian Head Cent, PR64 Brown
Orange and Purple-Brown Patina

1877 1C PR64 Brown PCGS. CAC. Ex: Teich Family Collection. Because of its scarcity as a circulation strike, demand for this date in Proof format far outstrips the number of proof survivors available. Despite its "brown" designation, this attractive example has a large amount of orange flash, particularly on the obverse. The strike is bold and well brought-up. The reverse is sharp and appealing, with a couple of tiny specks apparently keeping this attractive cent from an even higher grade. Few are certified finer. Population: 24 in 64 Brown, 11 finer (12/13).
