Description

1877 Cent, Lustrous PR64 Brown
In Demand by Date Collectors

1877 1C PR64 Brown PCGS. CAC. Orange-gold luster envelops the obverse of this near-Gem proof and gravitates to the reverse border, ceding to brownish-mauve toning in the center. The design elements are well-struck, including most of the feather tips. Neither side reveals mentionable contacts or carbon. This issue is in demand by date collectors, some of whom prefer to substitute a proof for the more expensive business strike. Population: 29 in 64 Brown, 14 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N2998)
