    Strong Date-Collector Demand

    1877 1C PR64 Red PCGS. It is estimated that 900 or so proof cents were struck in 1877. The issue is subjected to relatively strong date-collector demand, as some Indian cent specialists opt for it instead of a mint condition business strike. Orange-gold color on this near-Gem is slightly deeper on the motifs, thereby yielding some field-device contrast. Sharply struck and devoid of significant marks or spots. Population: 40 in 64 Red, 32 finer (4/14).(Registry values: N4719)
