    Key Red Gem Proof 1877 Indian Cent

    1877 1C PR65 Red NGC. This example of the always-popular key-date 1877 issue is from the proof die that shows a raised "blob" for the right serif of the T in CENT. This example is exceedingly well struck, with sharpness on all feather tips. The surfaces are a delectable medium copper-gold on the obverse with glints of green and indigo, and a bit of mellowing on the reverse to red-gold. No notable spots or other distractions are present. Census: 11 in 65 Red, 3 finer (7/06).(Registry values: N4719)
