    Description

Red and Brown PR66 1877 Cent

1877 1C PR66 Red and Brown NGC. The reverse die used to strike this example is the "Bulged T" reverse, which was first used in 1872 and was used to strike many of the proof issues between that date and 1877. The right pennant of the T in CENT is in much higher relief than the other parts of the letter. Probably 50% of the original mint luster still remains on each side of this coin, but there are considerable areas of lilac and sea-green iridescence present as well that lend a darkening influence. Nicely mirrored in the fields and nearly pristine. Population: 10 in 66, 0 finer (11/02).

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 229W, PCGS# 2319)

    Weight: 3.11 grams

Metal: 95% Copper, 5% Tin and Zinc
