Description

1877 Indian Cent, PR66 Red Cameo
One of the Finest Examples Known
CAC Approval

1877 1C PR66 Red Cameo PCGS. CAC. Snow-PR3. Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Only a handful of Premium Gem 1877 Indian cents survive, and none are finer than this CAC-endorsed example. The surfaces display rich copper-red color mellowed to tan-red at a few high points, as befits its nearly 147-year survival. The surfaces are simply outstanding, with none of the usual specks or spots that plague these early proofs. The coin was struck with all the force needed to bring up the devices, with enough die polish to impart the desired Cameo contrast on Liberty and the wreath. Precious few 1877 cents can compare with this stunning Red Cameo proof, and any collector will long be proud to own this coin. As the key date to the series, not many are around at this grade level. Population: 3 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer. CAC: 2 in 66, 0 finer (9/24).
