Description
1884 1C PR66 Red PCGS. After 1877, a low-mintage year for both business strikes and proofs, production figures for the latter never fell below 1,000 pieces for the rest of the series, and the record continues to the present day. Of the 3,942 examples coined for 1884, few remain in such exquisite condition as the present piece, which is boldly impressed and flashy with pale orange-copper surfaces. An attractive and carefully preserved specimen. Population: 31 in 66, 10 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N1793)
