Elusive 1884 Cent, PR67 Red

1884 1C PR67 Red NGC. CAC. The 1884 proof Indian Head cent saw a high mintage of 3,942 pieces and can be located through PR65 Red without to much difficulty. Premium Gem Red examples are more challenging, and finer coins are elusive. Luminous copper-gold surfaces of this red Superb Gem display splashes of orange joined by whispers of light blue on the reverse, and are exquisitely struck. A couple of tiny flecks on each side are undisturbing. Census: 4 in 67 Red, 0 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)
