    Description

Lustrous and Original Proof 1885 Cent, A Premium Quality Gem

1885 1C PR66 Red PCGS. While many proof 1885 Cents display unsightly toning streaks from an improperly mixed alloy in the planchet, this high quality Gem is evenly colored in pinkish-red luster. Original olive tinged undertones are also evident, along with a razor sharp strike that leaves no feather tip ill-defined. The elusiveness of high grade business strike 1885 Cents adds even more to the desirability of this smooth, virtually pristine proof. Housed in a first generation PCGS holder. Population: 8 in 66 Red, just three are finer (9/02).

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
