    Description

Original Gem Proof 1885 Cent, PR66 Red PCGS

1885 1C PR66 Red PCGS. While many proof 1885 Cents display unsightly toning streaks from an improperly mixed alloy in the planchet, this high quality Gem is evenly colored in pinkish-red luster with golden and red undertones. A razor sharp strike is present that leaves no feather tip ill-defined. The elusiveness of high grade business strike 1885 Cents adds even more to the desirability of this smooth, virtually pristine proof. Population: 9 in 66 Red, just three are finer (10/03).
From the Palm Beach Collection. (#2344) (Registry values: P2, N3090)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22A6, PCGS# 2344)
