Description

1885 Indian Cent, PR68 Red and Brown
PCGS Generation 3.1 Green Label Holder

1885 1C PR68 Red and Brown PCGS (3.1). A spectacular, deeply mirrored proof. The surfaces are as technically perfect today as they were in 1885. The only difference between then and now is the presence of slight mellowing on the mostly copper-golden and magenta surfaces. Housed in a Generation 3.1 green label holder. Richard Snow (2009) writes that this high-mintage proof date has "not survived the decades very well." Population: 2 in 68 Red and Brown, 0 finer (2/25).
