Description

1887 1C PR64 Red PCGS. A very difficult proof issue to find in "full red," this example portrays a much better than average strike than is typically found on 1887 proofs. The four diamonds, save for the bottom-most one, display virtual full definition. The feathertips on the headdress, however, remain somewhat soft. The surfaces are a bright coppery-gold, and display just a couple of minute marks on the Indian's cheek and in the left (facing) obverse field. Population: 10 in 64, 11 finer (3/05).(#2350) (Registry values: N1793)
